Peacework co-editor Sam Diener will discuss how we obtained the data from the military. Katherine Fisher will discuss selecting open source mapping tools and the challenges and joys therein. We will demonstrate some of the maps we've created and can create. We'll discuss ways we could go from here to present and help visitors access these data and these maps on the web.
About the presenters: Sam Diener has been co-editor of Peacework Magazine for the past 6 years, is a co-founder of the GI Rights Hotline, and is a long-term countering military recruitment activist. Katherine Fisher has been working as office manager at AFSC-NERO. She is a Quaker, a friend of the Catholic Worker and the School of Americas Watch movements, and is an active war tax resister.
